Yearbook of Historical Communism Research

JHK 2019The Yearbook of Historical Communism Research (Jahrbuch für Historische Kommunismusforschung – JHK) was founded by Hermann Weber in 1993. It is dedicated to researching Communism as a European and global phenomenon, and features essays, research reports, documentations and reviews on the most recent findings from international Communism research. The Federal Foundation for the Study of Communist Dictatorship in East Germany has published the JHK since 2004.

The Yearbook of Historical Communism Research online

On the website www.kommunismusgeschichte.de you can find digitised editions from 2002 until 2017. Further editions will successively be published online. Each printed edition is being published online two years after its release.

Unfortunately, the JHK editions from 1993-99 are no longer available and can only be purchased from used bookshops.

The 2000/01–2013 editions (at a cost of 38 €) and 2014-19 editions (29 €) can be ordered directly from Berlin’s Metropol publishing house.
